Community Outreach
The Wild Bunch is passionate about our mission to educate and help protect our natural treasures. In addition to the nature festival and Wild Nites, we have a few other activities that help achieve our goal of creating a deeper appreciation of nature:
- Boys and Girls Club Nature Photo classes - WANF volunteers, led by Kathy Brooks, have worked with the two clubs in Nassau county to teach the children about nature thru photography. Last year we purchased 30 digital cameras and this year donated photo printers. About 35 children go thru the Nature Photography class. This is followed by a hands-on photo workshop on the Egans Creek Greenway. It's debatable who has more fun the kids or volunteers.
- Keepin' Mother Earth pretty - Thru the Adopt-a-Highway, Shore and Pond programs, WANF volunteers are responsible for cleaning up a section of South Fletcher, a stretch of beach in Ft Clinch State Park and the pond on the south end of Egans Creek Greenway.
